Presentation to Gov. Loughery

Club member Irene Weis presented Rotary District Governor Craig Loughery and his spouse, Diane, with a One River Mississippi print at the club meeting Wednesday, Nov. 18. Local artist Carol Johnson Schneider created the original painting for one of the Park Rapids Lakes Area Arts Council’s first events: collaboration with a local dance studio and dancers to promote One River Mississippi, an event which united performers from the headwaters of the Mississippi in Itasca State Park to Plaquemines Parish, Louisiana, in simultaneous, site-specific performances along the river in June 2006. PRLAAC began offering the prints this year as a fundraiser.
