Rod Nordberg honored with Distinguished Rotarian Community Service Award

President Ed Ranson (left) presented Rod Nordberg (center) with the Rotary District 5580 Distinguished Rotarian Community Service Award at the Park Rapids Rotary Club’s Awards & Installation Banquet June 17 at Necce’s. Also congratulating Rod was John Rasmussen, who was installed as club president for 2015-16 during the event. A member of the Park Rapids Rotary Club since 2010, Rod brings great enthusiasm to community service projects. His club service has included working on highway cleanup and in the food stand on the ice at the American Legion Community Fishing Contest. He was in charge of organizing the club’s weekly programs winter quarter. The award recognized his community service beyond Rotary: Park Rapids City Council and nine committees, Arts and Cultural Advisory Commission, All-School Reunion Committee, Northern Light Opera Company, Hubbard County Historical Society, Park Rapids Lakes Area Arts Council, Park Rapids Community Development Corporation and “local politics.”
