Club reaches Rotary Foundation milestone

As the Park Rapids Rotary Club approaches its 80th anniversary July 23, it  has already achieved a milestone as over the years members have contributed more than $100,000 to the Rotary Foundation. Contributors are recognized as Paul Harris Fellows and Paul Harris Fellows Plus and a new group received their pins Wednesday, March 16. They are (front, from left) Joanne Torfin, Plus Five; Lu Ann Hurd-Lof, Plus Two; and Irene Weis, Plus Two, (back) Stephen Norby, new Paul Harris Fellow; Ed Ranson, Plus Four; David Collins, Plus Three; Ed Poitras, Plus Three; and Brian Behrens, Plus One. Others receiving recognition but absent Wednesday are: Joan Tweedale, Patrick Sullivan and Rod Nordberg, Plus One;  Mark Hewitt, Plus Three and John Rasmussen, Plus Four. Donors of $1,000 or more to the Rotary Foundation are honored for their contributions to the Rotary Foundation’s mission to enable Rotarians to advance world understanding, goodwill and peace through the improvement of health, support of education and alleviation of poverty.
