The Park Rapids Rotary Club proudly announces the 4th of July Rotary Fireworks will brighten our evening on Independence Day this year.
“While most events that involve large gatherings have been cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the club has decided to continue this treasured community display,” said Stuart Larson, Park Rapids Rotary Club president.
The fireworks will differ from tradition, however.
While the fireworks display will still be centered in Heartland Park, Rotary asks everyone to disperse and enjoy the program which is visible throughout the community. Social distancing guidelines will be followed and there will be no restrooms or porta- potties available to the public in Heartland Park or Red Bridge Park.
“For everyone’s heath and safety, it will be important to understand the situation and respect the rules of the times we’re in,” added Sue Tomte, fundraiser for the Rotary Club Fireworks Committee. “We all look forward to gathering in the traditional way next year.”
The club continues to seek contributions to the Park Rapids Rotary Foundation Fireworks Fund, a 501(c)3 so donations are 100 percent tax-deductible to the fullest extent of the law. Donors whose contributions are received by Wednesday, June 24 will be recognized in Rotary’s full-page newspaper ad which will be published July 3.
Checks, made payable to the Park Rapids Rotary Foundation, may be mailed to the Foundation at P.O. Box 704, Park Rapids, MN 56470.
